GoodReader PDF Editor & Viewer App Reviews

Ive been using (various versions) of this app for years and love it. Its my go to for grad school - I can mark up the professors presentations and my readings. Its also my go-to for work. I love using it to mark up presentations with my personal notes. It would be great to have a PDF converter in the app instead of needing a separate app. Thanks!

I would love to see an update that allows moving the annotation box when typing in it! I use this program mostly to follow knit/crochet/sewing patterns. Since I cant move the box while it is open and I never know where it will pop up, just close by where my finger hits it, I am forever having to close it without typing and then trying again... Please make this box moveable so we can put it where we need it. Then you would get 5 stars from me!!! Thanks!

Great app. Unfortunately, apps that beg for reviews get 1 star...

I have had this PDF app for a few months now. And I have found it to be very helpful for reading and marking PDF books and notes. I also like the fact that there are many services to sync your pdfs with. I use the sFTP option myself. It was a little tricky to get setup. But now works great. Keep up the great work...

I use this app for viewing plans and specs on job site visits. I love it for reviewing project specifications prior to bidding, making great use of the markup tools and printing the markup summary for review during the bidding process. It has great connectivity for Dropbox, Box, and Google Drive. The only thing I wish it had was an OCR engine for documents. I use Bluebeam on a PC for that. I have no complaints after 5 years of everyday use.

This is such a good app, it is like having Finder within iOS. This increases productivity since it allows me to use a well made file system through this app. Thanks for the app. I appreciate a well made piece of software. Keep updating :)

I really love goodreader. Its an excellent app. My issue has been customer service and troubleshooting. I have been working on an invalid server response error for sometime now but nothing is working. The documentation is of no use. The unofficial discussion groups have no answers and the official response has been one automated email saying they have received my email. So waiting for now without syncing. Update: issues with syncing to Onedrive which had a 100 MB upload limit for third party apps. But according to Onedrive blog they have changed that restriction a few months ago but goodreader has not updated. So I cant use goodreader for my textbooks now.

Ive been using GoodReader for years. Its a great PDF reader, also good for text files and other stuff. Good connectivity options -- Dropbox, Google, OneDrive, etc.

By far the best PDF reader on this platform, nothing else come close.

I just pulled the trigger on PDF Expert and am inspired to write the review. The checkerboard effect and clunky and slow feel when going between pages was annoying with good reader. I thought it was my iPad and I just bought a pro, but it still does it. Even free adobe reader provides a better , smoother scrolling and reading experience. If good reader were smoother and faster, similarly to PDF Expert, it would be a tough call. but for now I would recommend PDF Expert despite the price tag.

I am reading most of my ebooks with GoodReader and I think one of the things missing in all ebook readers is book reading tracking. It would be nice if this option is added in the future version of the app. This option shall have the capability to log read pages, remaining pages, reminders for reading, and even statistics about reading rate of the user per month/season/year. Hope to see this option soon. Thanks

Great app. Opens everything I want and very intuitive to use.

I have had GoodReader for several years now. It is an excellent product for working with pdfs on the iOS devices. It has a great feature set and is consistently stable. It is really about as good as a software product can get.

Been using since the first gen iPad, now on an iPad mini 4. An app I will always have many uses for. Love being able to password protect the app and the files and folders (yes, folders) within. Even with the many iOS changes over the years, Good Reader has remained relevant. Highly recommended. Edit 6/3/16: My only complaint EVER has been the app falling a bit short in the "intuitive" category. Theres lots of help alright, but a simpler, preferably customizable interface would be ideal and earn that extra star from this long-time user (since 1st gen iPad).

Good Reader was one of the first apps I owned back when we got our first iPad. Their developers continue to innovate, allowing Good Reader to retain its status as the best file manager even after all these years! Good Reader is always one of a few must have apps I put on each and every ios device I or any family member uses. We dont use it a lot as some do, because you can use it for virtually everything, but we have it available to use for when we need too. Our primary usage is as a iCloud Drive repository for all of our important documents. We have perhaps 20 folders with a couple hundred files ranging from images, PDFs, Pages & Word document. But you can also keep other types of documents such as rich text too. Rarely do I encounter a data type that doesnt work in Good Reader.

They put a lot into the app.

This is truly essential and versatile app. I use it as my virtual file cabinet and book shelf. The ability to carry and find any record, receipt, medical file, official record, tax record, etc. securely and quickly is indispensable.

I read all these great things about this app, so I bought it. It does not do what I bought the app to do. I want to email annotations, but never receive the email with the annotations. When I click on their support page to send them a question via email, I get a pop up window with a sad mac face. All I can do is look at their pre-written help pages that do not address my question. I would return this app if I could.
